Manufacturing Solutions:
Integrated Design Simulation
In today’s competitive environment, companies involved in the design and development of products face increasing pressure to produce better
products in less time.
To meet this challenge, companies are introducing more computer-aided simulation into the design process so designers can gain early insight
into the performance of the design. This gives the designer ore freedom to explore new ideas or alternatives with greater confidence that the
design will perform as expected and require fewer changes during prototype testing and real-world use.
But to make simulation an integrated part of the design process, the simulation tools need to be fast, easy to use, and fit seamlessly in the
design engineer’s process. To achieve this, PT has developed a suite of completely integrating simulation tools within the computer-aided design (CAD)
software used every day by the design engineer. Pro/MECHANICA works seamlessly within the Pro/ENGINEER environment. Using the same user interface,
workflow, and productivity tools that the design engineer is already familiar with.
Pro/MECHANICA operates directly on the Pro/ENGINEER geometry and database, so there are o geometry translation or interface problems and the full power
of the proven Parametric Modeling Capability of Pro/ENGINEER can be exploited.
The automated optimization capabilities of Pro/MECHANICA lets designers quickly evaluate alternatives and ten focus on better designs without the need
for expansive and time-consuming prototypes.
Pro/MECHANICA also works with other CAD programs from other vendors like Unigraphics, Solidworks, and CATIA, through PTC’s data sharing Associative Topology Bus (ATB).
Integrated CAD/CAM Tools for the Successful Machinist
To create the complex shapes typical of today's products, machinists require a robust and integrated set of computer-aided
design (CAD) and manufacturing (CAM) solutions. PTC's Pro/ENGINEER Manufacturing Solutions offer a complete family of
applications to handle every aspect of the machine process from mold design and advanced numerical control (NC)
to three-dimensional computer-aided simulation and verification. Pro/ENGINEER Manufacturing Solutions work inside of
Pro/ENGINEER to give you true concurrent design through manufacture, and the confidence in knowing our parts will be cut efficiently and accurately
